We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 3

Spring 2 Week 4

We started our week with our exciting trip to the Sea City Museum. We found out so much about Southampton, its past and present, and greatly enjoyed our workshop of 'Romans' activities, which gave us a taster for our topic next term. We all had fun travelling by train too! The children were all beautifully behaved throughout the day and I was very proud of them all.

Tuesday brought us Shakespeare! The children tackled this with their usual enthusiasm and were excellent as 'The Mechanicals' in A Midsummer's Night Dream.

On Wednesday we started a new book - The Promise by Nicola Davies. We've only read the first few pages and haven't yet discovered what the promise is, but the children have made lots of thoughtful predictions.

Thursday saw us painting - this time producing flowers on a grand scale. We looked at more paintings of Georgia O'Keefe and tried our best to replicate her style, filling the whole page with one flower.

Friday we all loved maths as it involved wine gums! Ask your children what the problem was that they had to solve. I hope they can explain it and not just tell you what colour sweet they had!

What a busy week - I hope you all have a restful weekend,

Clare
