Round up of the week

English

We have begun to read our class text “Dead Man’s cove”. We have looked at the opening paragraph and the impact that it has had and what we can gleam from the smallest piece of text. We have written diary entries and letters exploring the two main characters choices in the first chapter.

Maths

We have been re-visited addition this week and looked at mental and formal methods. The children are beginning to appreciate that dependant on the question in hand an informed decision means that a different method may be chosen in different circumstances.

Black History Month

The children all prepared PowerPoints based on important people in history and then presented this information in an assembly. The children all did incredibly well.
