Hello everyone,

We have had a great week here in year 1. In English this week, we have started our new book Jack and the Beanstalk. This is a great story that the children have really enjoyed reading and writing about. We started the week thinking what the book may be about looking at the front cover, the children all had brilliant ideas!  We are beginning to know the book really well and have also sequenced the story.

In maths this week, we have been looking at numbers to 20 and one more and one less.  All the children have really enjoyed using the equipment to do this.

In science this week, we had a lovely lesson outside looking at the different plants around our school. The children drew pictures of these plants and we discussed what they looked like together.   

We have been busy listening to all of the children read in the last two weeks and their reading books will be sent home on Monday.
