Friday Blog - Friday 29th January

Good evening everyone and a happy Friday to you all!

Another week done, that's our fourth week of online learning complete.  A huge thanks to you all for the support you are giving your children, your kind messages of support for Leesa and I  and the enthusiasm and dedication you are showing to the task. Well done.

Thank you for all your Tapestry posts too. These enable me to still monitor the children's learning, which is essential for me to complete the children's Early Years Foundation Stage Profile at the end of the year. Although the DfE has said that this year's EYFSP is not mandatory, we will still try to complete it as it provides useful information for the Year 1 staff for the children's transition into Key Stage 1. Many of you are in an excellent routine of posting to me everyday or every few days. If you have not posted, please try to add something a couple of times a week.

I know the zoom lessons have been a little more problematic for some children this week. As the weeks continue, the children are missing the routines of school and their friends more and more. Thank you for persevering!  As a result of some of your queries we have decided on Monday to hold individual chat and catch-up sessions with the children, instead of phonics and maths. This is not compulsory, but if your child would like the opportunity to have a chat with me, please reply to the email I will send out shortly. Mrs Groves will also be around to say hello, but will be managing the children in school.

We would like to wish you all a safe and restful weekend,

The Year R Team
