We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year R

Friday Blog - Friday 25th June

Good evening everyone,

Badger Class have had another fantastic week! We have been busy thinking about minibeasts. Our role-play area is now a Minibeast Investigation Lab, filled with some very realistic looking insects, bugs and butterflies. The children are loving being in there and using magnifying glasses or bug boxes to have a closer look. Some of the children have also spent a lot of their time outside also looking for bugs - apologies if anyone has come home particularly grubby!

Our chrysalises have been moved to their butterfly gardens in anticipation of the butterflies emerging - fingers crossed that they wait until next week to emerge so that the children can see.

We have also been thinking about doubles this week. We talked about double letters in names, but went on to look at doubles of numbers to 5 and then to 10. We put spots onto ladybirds - equal numbers on each wing. The children are becoming much more confident working with numbers up to 20, I am very pleased with their progress.

We are still collecting plastic bottle tops for our recycling project. We have a collection basket in the classroom, so please send the children in with any you have collected - many thanks!

Let's hope we see some sunshine this weekend.
