Round up of the week

Maths

We have been reviewing place value together with rounding to 10 and 100. The children have also been developing their problem solving skills.

English

We have begun our Vikings topic. The children have enjoyed learning about the impact that their invasion caused and practising their dictionary skills. They have begun to research an aspect of Viking life with a view to writing their own fact files.

Science

We have started learning about electricity today and the children loved experimenting with batteries, wires and a light bulb!

Student teacher

From Monday we have a student teacher (Mr Clark) starting with the Class. He will be with us for 4 weeks before Christmas and 5 weeks after Christmas.  He will be teaching and supporting the children alongside myself.
