Year R

Friday 4th October 2024
We have had a busy week in Badger class.
We have started our new topic of learning about transport and different types of vehicles. This week we designed our 'dream vehicle'. Some of the ideas were so creative, including a car made of cake, an Elsa and Anna taxi and a vehicle which can move in the sea, air and on land!
In our art lesson today, the children were given a picture of half a vehicle and had to finish the other half. These looked great and we're looking forward to sticking these in our new sketch books.
We are looking forward to the walk on the 15th October. Thank you to those of you who have volunteered to help; we will be setting off at 10:30 and will aim to be back no later than 11:30.
In maths, we have been making different patterns. The children have used chalk, building blocks and outdoor materials and it was fantastic to see them working collaboratively and helping each other. They showed initiative to make their patterns more complex and enjoyed explaining their patterns to the adults and their friends.
In Drawing Club, we have been reading the book 'Chicken Licken'. Their drawings, once again, have been fantastic and we have had some really creative ideas of what we would do if Foxy Loxy came to our school!
We have been continuing to look at our baby photos and yesterday, we talked about the similarities and differences between us then and us now. We stuck them on a piece of paper and then drew a picture of what we look like now to compare them. This has made a lovely display in Badger class.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Prichard
