What a wonderfully busy week we’ve had in Badger Class! The children have been absolute superstars, and it has been a joy to see their enthusiasm, resilience and growing confidence shine through in everything they’ve done.
On Monday, we began the week by writing invitations for you to come and taste our homemade vegetable soup. The children worked so carefully on these, thinking about who they were inviting and practising their best writing. We hope they were proud to show them to you!
We also had our exciting trip to the Brockenhurst Village Veg Shop. Although we did get a little drenched along the way, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits! The children loved choosing fresh vegetables, spotting different colours and shapes, and chatting to the shop staff about what we were planning to make. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience, and they behaved beautifully throughout.
The children also really enjoyed interfaith morning on Wednesday. They did lots of art and craft activities related to Buddhism!
On Wednesday, it was wonderful to welcome so many of you into class for our Soup Tasting Afternoon. Thank you so much for taking the time to join us. The children were thrilled to share their creations with you and talk about their visit to the veg shop. It was such a lovely community moment, and we hope you enjoyed your warm, healthy treat!
As we head towards Christmas, Nativity rehearsals are now in full swing! The children have been practising their songs with so much enthusiasm, and it’s been brilliant to see them growing in confidence as they learn their lines and movements. The excitement is certainly building—we hope you’re feeling as festive as we are!!
We are also incredibly proud of the children’s progress in phonics, writing and reading. Their hard work is really paying off, and your support at home makes a massive difference. Thank you for reading regularly, practising tricky words and supporting their letter formation!
Notices
Safer Eating 2025:
Please remember that all snacks brought into school should be cut into small, manageable pieces (e.g. grapes cut lengthways). Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe.
Tricky Word Pots:
If your child does not yet have a named tricky word pot in school, please send one in. Tricky word cards are being used daily to support early reading, and regular practice really helps.
Reading at Home:
Thank you again for reading regularly with your child. It makes a huge impact on their confidence and fluency. Each child has also taken home a letter formation practice pack—practising these at home would be incredibly beneficial.
It has been such a joyful, busy, and productive week, and I am so proud of how hard the children are working. Have a lovely weekend, and I look forward to another brilliant week in Badger Class!
