What another fantastic and busy week we’ve had in Badger Class!
From Monday to Wednesday, the class had a brilliant time with Miss Welton, who kept everyone very busy indeed! As part of our Forest School learning, the children went on a welly walk to explore the school grounds. They looked carefully for different signs of autumn, tried some early tree identification, and chatted about how the seasons change our environment. Back in class, they designed their own pairs of wellies and even created beautiful autumn food baskets inspired by the colourful fruit and vegetables found in a traditional greengrocer’s shop. The children showed fantastic creativity and attention to detail—well done, Badgers!
In Drawing Club, we explored the wonderfully spooky story The Hairy Toe, which the children absolutely loved! They enjoyed acting out parts of the tale, drawing key characters and settings, and using the story to spark their imagination in writing and play.
Nativity rehearsals are going brilliantly, and we are so proud of how hard the children are working. Thank you so much for practising lines at home—it really does make a big difference. The children are growing in confidence each day and are doing an amazing job learning the songs, actions and lines. We can already feel the festive excitement building!
In English this week, we completed our pumpkin soup tasting reflections, thinking carefully about the flavours, textures and ingredients. The children worked wonderfully to describe their experiences and talk about the cooking they have enjoyed this term.
To finish our week, today we made some beautiful Christmas tree decorations for the tree at St Saviour’s Church. The children worked with such care and pride, and we can’t wait for you to see their creations displayed in the church over the coming weeks.
We are also very excited to share that Badger Class is in the newspaper! If you would like a copy of our first class photo, you can find it in the New Milton Advertiser or the Lymington Times. We hope you enjoy seeing our smiling faces in print!
Notices
Safer Eating 2025
Please remember that all snacks brought into school should be cut into small, manageable pieces (e.g. grapes cut lengthways). Thank you for supporting our school safety guidelines.
Tricky Word Pots
If your child does not yet have a named tricky word pot in school, please send one in. We use tricky word cards daily to support early reading, and regular practice at home is incredibly helpful.
Nativity
Please continue practising lines at home and send in costumes as soon as possible. Thank you for all your support—it makes such a difference.
The children have worked incredibly hard this week, and we are so proud of each and every one of them. Thank you for your ongoing support, and we hope you all have a restful and happy weekend. We look forward to another wonderful week in Badger Class!
