We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year R

Friday 6th February 2026

We have had another busy and exciting week in Badgers Class!

In Drawing Club, we explored the story Mr Ben – The Zoo Keeper. The children loved imagining themselves in the zoo and drawing different animals and scenes from the story. There was lots of great discussion as they shared their drawings and ideas with one another.

In maths, we have been learning about doubles up to 10, as well as exploring odd and even numbers. The children used practical resources and games to support their understanding and did a fantastic job explaining their thinking.

In RE, we have been learning about belonging, focusing on what belonging means and how it feels. We have linked this to Christianity, discussing how people belong to the Christian faith and to church communities. The children shared some thoughtful ideas about the groups and communities they belong to.

During Forest School, learning was linked to the recent flooding and the story of Noah’s Ark. The children enjoyed exploring this theme outdoors and made some great connections through play and discussion.

In PE, the children are continuing to practise their dance in preparation for the Danceathon next Wednesday. They are really enjoying learning the routine and are showing lots of enthusiasm and energy!

We are hoping to visit the church café on Tuesday afternoon, all being well with no flooding. As a result, Forest School will take place on Monday next week instead of its usual day.

Important Reminders

  • Spare clothes are essential. Please ensure your child has a full set of spare clothes in their box, including trousers (not necessarily school uniform), pants, socks and tights.

  • If your child has borrowed any school spare clothes, these must be returned as soon as possible. We have now completely run out of spares. All items are labelled BPS.

Have a lovely weekend! 🌟
