Another great week for Badgers!

In Drawing Club, we have been enjoying Where the Wild Things Are, which has been a very popular story with the children this week. I have loved seeing their imaginative ideas come to life through their drawings and writing.

As part of our theme work, we have continued learning about the life cycle of butterflies. The children have been carefully observing our caterpillars and writing about the changes they have noticed as they grow. We are all very excited to see what happens next and think they may begin forming their cocoons next week!

In maths, we have been learning about position and direction, using vocabulary such as behind, next to and in front of. The children enjoyed creating their own small-world scenes and talking about where different objects and characters were positioned using the new language they had learned.

This week, we also enjoyed celebrating Go Blue for a Loo Day and helping to raise money for Toilet Twinning. Thank you very much for your generous donations and support.

PE was lots of fun this week. As a special treat, the children had the opportunity to play a variety of parachute games. They showed great teamwork, listening skills and enthusiasm, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking part.

Notices:

As we move closer to Year 1, it would be really helpful to start encouraging your child to walk into school independently from the gate where possible. This will help them prepare for the routines and expectations of Year 1 while continuing to build their confidence and independence.

We are also looking forward to a visit to Lymington Library on Monday 22nd June. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore the library and further develop their love of reading. I will send home a letter with further information next week.
