We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year R

Another busy and exciting week for Badgers!

In Drawing Club this week, we enjoyed reading the story Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. The children loved the funny story and created some wonderful drawings inspired by the book, showing great imagination and creativity.

In RE, we have continued thinking about growing and change. As the children prepare for their move to Year 1, we have been discussing what it means to grow up and looking ahead to next year when they will move to a new classroom and have a new teacher. The children shared their thoughts and feelings beautifully and are beginning to feel excited about the changes ahead.

This week, the children also enjoyed making Father's Day cards. They worked very hard on them and took great care with their writing and designs. We hope all the special fathers, grandfathers and family members enjoy receiving them this weekend!

Our caterpillars continue to be a source of great excitement. They have now started forming their cocoons and the children have been eagerly watching the changes take place. Next week, we will continue observing them and writing about what we notice as they develop.

A huge thank you to Gill for helping to make our garden look absolutely gorgeous. Thank you also for donating plants and giving up your valuable time to help transform the space. The children loved helping with the planting and have enjoyed watering and caring for the garden throughout the week.

Notices:

As we move closer to Year 1, it would be really helpful to start encouraging your child to walk into school independently from the gate where possible. This will help them prepare for the routines and expectations of Year 1 while continuing to build their confidence and independence.

Unfortunately, our visit to Lymington Library has had to be cancelled. We are currently in the process of rearranging the visit and will share the new date as soon as it has been confirmed. Please keep an eye on Tapestry for further updates.

Please can you ensure that all jumpers and cardigans are clearly named, as we have had several items this week without names, making it difficult to return them to their owners.

PE will now take place on Mondays for the remainder of the school year. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on this day.

Thank you very much for your continued support. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a very happy Father's Day!
