What a week we have had in Badgers!

Firstly, a huge well done to all of the children for working so hard despite the incredibly hot weather this week. They have coped brilliantly with the heat and have continued to show fantastic enthusiasm in all of their learning.

The children have been getting creative by making their own paper fans to help keep cool. They were very proud of their creations and had great fun testing them out—especially on me!

In Maths, we took part in a fun boat-building challenge. The children designed and made their own boats using tin foil before testing them in our water tray to see which boat could hold the most weight before sinking. There were some fantastic predictions, brilliant teamwork and lots of excitement as we watched the boats being tested.

In Drawing Club, we explored The Pink Panther. The children loved watching the classic cartoon and used it as inspiration for some wonderful drawings and imaginative storytelling.

The highlight of the week was definitely releasing our butterflies on Friday! The children have thoroughly enjoyed watching the caterpillars grow, form their chrysalises and finally emerge as beautiful butterflies. We have been writing about the butterfly life cycle throughout the week and linking our learning to The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It has been a wonderful experience for the children to witness nature so closely. I know not everyone was able to be there for the butterfly release, so I have uploaded plenty of photos and videos to Tapestry for you to enjoy at home.

Our visit to Lymington Library has now been rearranged for Friday 3rd July. Further information will be sent out via email on Monday. Payment will also be available on Scopay, with a £3 contribution to cover the cost of the train journey.
