Another great week for Badgers Class! The children have continued to work incredibly hard and it has been wonderful to see their confidence growing as they become more familiar with our routines and learning.

In Literacy, we have continued practising writing our names and developing our early handwriting skills. We have also been working hard on building up our finger strength, which is so important for developing pencil control and becoming confident writers. To help strengthen those little fingers, we have been enjoying Dough Disco! The children have really enjoyed squishing, squeezing and rolling the dough while developing the muscles they need for writing.

In Drawing Club, we explored the story Tiddler, which the children absolutely loved! We had lots of fun talking about the story and the characters before creating some fantastic pictures of Tiddler. The children also had a go at some writing. It has been wonderful to see them beginning to form some of the first sounds we have been learning in Phonics. They are trying incredibly hard, and we are very proud of the progress they are making.

In Maths, we have continued to develop our understanding of counting and have been exploring counting and grouping objects. The children have enjoyed getting hands-on with their learning and are becoming increasingly confident when working with numbers.

We have also continued our learning about families, talking about the people who are special to us and sharing our ideas and experiences. It has been lovely to hear the children talking about their families and learning more about one another.

Our PE session was lots of fun this week! The children enjoyed getting active, trying different movements and joining in with the activities together.

A big thank you to everyone for continuing to read with your children at home. Reading regularly makes such a difference, so please try to read as often as possible and remember to record your reading in your child's reading journal.

You will now also find a Collins Hub eBook label inside your child's reading journal, with their individual login details. This allows you to access the books in eBook format that your child has been reading during our reading groups. We have reading groups three times a week, so it would be fantastic if you could revisit these books at home with your child to help build their confidence and fluency.
