It's hard to believe we're already at the end of week 3! The children never cease to amaze me with their creativity and hard work.
We have had a fantastic week in year 1, the children have shown they are fantastic artists when learning about Eric Carle in Art. The children have also shown they are super geographers, we have been looking at maps of Brockenhurst, discussing the importance of an address and making their own passports. Geography Home Learning; Children to find out their address, house name or number and the road they live on and write it down and bring them to school on Wednesday 18th September. In a few weeks’ time we will be going for a walk around Brockenhurst on the afternoon of Thursday 3rd October, if you have a current DBS and are able to help please let the office know.
Welcome back, we hope you had a brilliant summer holiday and made some fantastic memories. We have been so impressed with how well the children have come back and settled. The children are learning the new routines in Owls quickly.
What a fantastic couple of weeks we have had. It's hard to share all the fun and learning we have at school, but before the summer holidays, I wanted to post some photos from our grey but fun day at Lepe! So many baby crabs...
Also, as you may have heard your child singing around the house, our Great Fire of London song. Thanks to Mr Thomas for his musical organisation. We learnt a song to help with BSL to help us learn some of the key facts of our history topic and I hope to have successfully attached to this blog post. The children loved learning it and joining in with the actions. I hope you can enjoy it together at home.
There are also some new home learning activities to keep you going throughout the summer holidays if you wish - as well as being able to browse the Ed Shed site for maths games and spelling games to consolidate their learning this year.
Have a fantastic summer!
Miss Lever
