Year 1
22/3/24
Hello,
What a busy week we have had!
For maths, we have been looking at measurement and comparing the height and length of objects and using cubes to measure the length of different things.
In English, we have practised plurals, adding 's' and 'es' to the end of words.
This week in phonics has been a revision week and we have been looking at the 'schwa' at the end of words, for example carrot, actor, collar and animal.
We had a lovely Easter service at the church on Wednesday and sang our favourite Easter songs.
The highlight of the week was the trip to Marwell Zoo. We had an amazing time and saw a lot of animals. The tigers, sloth and snow leopards were particular favourites. The children were very resilient as we did a lot of walking! They made us proud with their kind and considerate behaviour during the trip. I have included some photos of the animals below.
Next week we are designing new enclosures for the animals at Marwell Zoo. We are asking the children to bring in an empty box, such as a cereal box, on Monday if possible. Thank you!
Have a lovely weekend!
