Year 1 - 13.02.25
Good evening and happy half-term!
What a fantastic half-term we have had! The children have been incredibly enthusiastic about learning all about dinosaurs and have amazed us with their fantastic writing, including fact files and dino diaries. It has truly been a "roarsome" experience!
Since the children have thoroughly enjoyed writing diaries, I have set them a challenge to write a half-term diary. Please encourage them to complete this as independently as possible, using the 'Grow the Code' and 'Tricky Word Mat' resources, which can be found in last week’s blog (7th February). We look forward to sharing their work when they return after the break.
In Maths, we have been revisiting number bonds to 10 and progressing to number bonds to 20. The children have particularly enjoyed using 'Hit the Button' to practise their doubles and number bonds. You can access the game here: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button . Additionally, I have set some home learning on https://www.edshed.com/en-gb/homework .
Collins Hub eBooks will be available from tomorrow (14.02.25). Please make use of this excellent resource after the half-term break. https://www.collinshub.co.uk/
We have also completed our art project inspired by Claire Young’s work. The children have produced some fantastic pieces, and I have attached a selection for you to enjoy.
Wishing you a wonderful break with your families, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Best wishes,
Year 1 Team
