Year 1 Blog - 11.09.25
Good evening,
We've had a fantastic week in Year 1, filled with teamwork and collaboration in pairs and small groups.
In English, we’ve started our new text The Queen’s Hat, and the children had great fun designing their own front covers. In Maths, we’ve been practising careful counting using bead strings and starting from larger numbers — brilliant focus all round!
A few updates:
Forest School
After half-term (Autumn 2), the children will begin Forest School sessions. They will be split into two groups — details to follow closer to the time.

A fantastic online library with a wide range of books to enjoy together at home. - Collins eBooks – We are currently experiencing some technical issues. If your child's old login still works, please continue using it. Unfortunately, we are unable to assign new books for now.
Reading Volunteers
