We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Friday 13th February – Year 1

Wow – what a short, fun but very busy half-term we have had in Year 1!

It has been so lovely catching up with many of you this week to talk about how hard your child has been working and the wonderful progress they have made. They should all be very proud of themselves.

The highlight of this week was our Danceathon on Wednesday – there was so much excitement in the air! The children had an amazing time. PE kits will be coming home today for a check and wash. Please could these be returned on Monday 23rd February (the first Monday back), as we have an exciting cricket session booked.

On Thursday, we had great fun sharing our dinosaur diaries with Year R. The children were so enthusiastic and proud of their writing. I have created a special half-term diary for them to complete at home. It would be wonderful to see the children have a go at writing a sentence for each day and drawing a picture to match. Completed diaries will be shared after half-term. These will come home today along with a note to explain. I attach the Grow the code and Tricky word mat on the blog to support. Please encourage children to have a go independently.

Little Wandle eBooks – Due to our busy week, we have not read together this week, so please do make the most of the books set for your child over half-term. EdShed – I have set some Maths home learning for the half-term.

Forest School sessions will begin in the week commencing 9th March. Your child will come home with a slip today to let you know whether their session will be on a Monday or Thursday.

Finally, just a quick reminder that our trip to Marwell Zoo will take place on Friday 27th February, the first Friday back after half-term.

Thank you again for your continued support. We hope you all have a lovely half-term and that we get to enjoy a little sunshine!
