Wow – what a wonderful first week back! We’ve had such fun reading all about the children’s half-term adventures. From meeting cockatoos and visiting Peppa Pig World, to exciting trips to soft play, it sounds like everyone had a fantastic break!
The children have worked incredibly hard writing their diaries. We still have a few left to share, which we are very much looking forward to. Thank you so much for supporting your child with their writing at home – we hope they enjoyed creating their diaries as much as we have enjoyed reading them.
Our highlight of the week was definitely today’s trip to Marwell Zoo. The children had a brilliant time seeing the animals and learning lots of interesting facts about them.
Next week, we will be starting our DT project. The children will be designing and creating a freestanding structure – play equipment for an animal enclosure. If you have any boxes, egg cartons, cardboard tubes or similar recyclable materials at home, please send them into school. They will be greatly appreciated!
In English, we have been reading Dear Zoo and learning about adjectives. The children have been writing their own sentences to describe the animals in the story.
In Maths, we have been adding using our number bond knowledge and practising adding on a number line.
