We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 2

13/06/25

Hello,

This week we have been exploring our new book 'The Night Gardener' by the Fan Brothers. It is all about a terrible place called Grimloch Lane which suddenly, one night, changes forever.

In maths, we have been learning to tell the time - o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to. It is a great thing to  practice at home.

For spellings we have been looking at homophones - words that sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings - they're, their, there, hear, here, bear, bare.

In art, the children have been looking at the work of Este Mcleod and creating their own works in a similar style.

For history we are learning what the school used to be like and had a special guest to tell us all about it. Liz, our school cleaner, came in to talk about the changes that have happened over the years. Did you know the school used to have a swimming pool?

The children have been doing so well with their swimming and  it is a real pleasure to take them to their lessons. Lessons carry on as usual on Tuesday.

Have a lovely weekend!
