We have had a lovely first full week in Year 2.

The children have settled beautifully into Year 2. They are working hard and are showing more and more resilience.  

We have enjoyed reading Follow me Little Fox, where we have started to think about the feelings of the characters. We have also spent time outside in our school grounds thinking about what questions we could ask the characters about being in nature and how they would answer them. 

In maths, we have been furthering our understanding of place value and have been counting and partitioning to 100. 

In Geography, we will be looking at answering the question 'Why don't penguins need to fly?'. We have started to look at the environmental features of Antarctica and highlighted it on the globe. 

Thank you for all of the reading you have done at home. Books need to be in every day and book change will be on a Tuesday and Friday. If anyone has some spare time to come in and listen to the children read, it would be greatly appreciated.
