We have had such a lovely first half term in Year 2. Firstly, thank you for your time at Parents evening this week. It was lovely to catch up with you all to celebrate the children’s successes and talk about how well they have settled into Year 2.  All of your support and kind words really do mean a lot, thank you.

This week we have started to learn about the Titanic in readiness for our trip to the SeaCity museum on the 6^th November. The children have shown so much enthusiasm towards this topic already and they are really looking forward to continuing with this after half term.

As usual, maths homework has been set on EdShed for over half term. This week, our focus has been adding to the next ten, adding (bridging) by making 10 and adding three 1 digit numbers.

I have also set the reading book the children have been reading this week in Little Wandle sessions. I spoke to lots of you at parents evening about how valuable and helpful these books are!

In addition to this, I would also love it if the children could keep a diary/produce some writing about their half term. I know it’s a busy time and I don’t want to add to your list of things to do but if you and your child would like to do this, I would love to read them and share them with the class after the half term. Thank you!
