Year 2

Friday 13th March 2026
This week, I have been so proud of Year 2. They have been working incredibly hard and have all shown fantastic focus and determination. Their listening skills, enthusiasm and positive attitudes are making a huge difference in the classroom.
In science, we enjoyed planting cress seeds to start our investigation ‘will it grow in the dark?’. We have placed some cress on the windowsill and some in the cupboard and we are looking forward to observing the process in the next couple of weeks.
In Art, we are studying two artists. Brian Wildsmith, who illustrates pictures linked to the Easter story and Elena Craciunescu who paints eggs with intricate designs. Year 2 have designed a pattern for their eggs and on Monday they will be painting them.
In History, Year 2 are thoroughly enjoying our topic of ‘Great Explorers’. Some children have found books linked to this and it has been lovely to share them. If the children would like to bring in a book linked to this topic, they are more than welcome to.
In English, Year 2 have started to write their information page based on their sea animal that they have created. They are looking fantastic.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Prichard
