Year 2

Friday 20th March 2026
We have had another fantastic week in Year 2.
It was wonderful to see so many crazy hairstyles today. Great effort everyone!
In English this week, we have been busy completing our final information pages all about our own made-up sea creatures. The children loved being creative and imaginative, coming up with unique names and interesting facts. They have focused on using clear sentences, headings and descriptive language to make their writing informative and engaging. We will be sharing them with Year 1 on Monday, and they will then bring them to share with you.
In Maths, we have been learning about temperature. The children have been reading thermometers and comparing different temperatures. We discussed how to tell which temperature is warmer or colder and used the correct mathematical vocabulary. The children enjoyed applying this knowledge to real-life contexts.
This week we celebrated filling up our marble jar—well done, everyone! As a reward, we spent this afternoon outside on the field enjoying a range of activities. The children played football and tennis, and also practised their skipping skills. It was wonderful to see them having lots of fun together.
A reminder that we have one swimming session left on the 27th March.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Prichard
