Year 2

Friday 27th March 2026
What a half-term it has been! Year 2 have worked extremely hard, and they all need a well-earned rest!
I was so proud of Year 2 on Wednesday. They sang beautifully at the church and read their prayers clearly and calmly. It was a lovely service.
This week, Year 2 have created a fantastic information page on the topic of their choice. They used their skills from this half-term’s writing unit to write individual, creative pieces. We have had information pages about all sorts of things; farms, Gladiators, penguins, red pandas!
Today, we had our last swimming lesson. I have been so impressed with the progress and determination of all the children. They should feel very proud of themselves.
Our usual routines have been a bit all over the place this term due to cricket and swimming! Here is a reminder of key weekly dates:
Monday and Tuesday: PE
Wednesday: Library
Thursday: Forest school will start for Year 2 on the first Thursday back after Easter. Please ensure Forest School clothes and wellingtons are in a labelled bag. Thank you in advance.
I hope we have lots of Year 2 children taking part in the Easter reading challenge. Email your photos to me and fill in your baskets; I have heard lots of creative ideas, so I am looking forward to seeing them!
Thank you for your continued support and I will look forward to seeing Year 2 in the summer term.
Have a lovely Easter break.
Miss Prichard
