How are we already over halfway through the term!
The festivities are in full swing, this week we have been creating art work for our Christmas door in readiness for next week. We cannot wait to see the Christmas doors around school.
A super week in year 3, the children continue to amaze me.
This week we have been discussing different themes in our focus book in Guided Reading ‘The Barnabus Project’, we discussed how fiction books had different genres and themes. The themes might be hidden throughout the story. We have also been learning what and how to write in paragraphs when writing a persuasive letter from Duncan to the crayons. Persuading them to work for Duncan again.
Another super week year 3! Well done :)
Welcome back! It is wonderful seeing all the children again and finding out all about their half-term adventures!
Wow, what a great half term the children have had in year 3! They have amazed us with all their hard work and efforts. It was wonderful meeting you all at parents evening to discuss how your child has settled and the progress they have made. Working together is vitally important, please contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
The children have written some super descriptions of the ‘Tin Forest’ this week, learning how to write in paragraphs and to reflect on their own and others work to improve it.
In Maths, we been recapping on our number bonds knowledge to help us work out 'subtracting 1s across 10s', ensuring we have a secure knowledge of place value within subtraction. We felt extremely proud of the children, they demonstrated great listening skills and behaviour, New Park staff noted "their behaviour and attitude to learning is impeccable".
Another super week in year 3, the children have all worked really hard. During our school and class worships we have been talking about the changes around the seasons, Autumn. We have been discussing those changes relevant to the beautiful New Forest, including pannage and rutting season. The children have loved sharing their favourite things about this season including pumpkin picking, conker collecting and looking after hedgehogs in their garden.
