Second week of swimming and the children are having a blast! We are so incredibly proud of their hard work, resilience and perseverance. It is so wonderful to hear the excitement on a Friday lunchtime when getting ready. Please ensure they have their swimming kit with them on a Friday.
Apologies for the late return back to school and any inconvenience this has caused. To ensure the children get the full hour in the pool, the children will return later than planned, also due to traffic at that time of day. Swimming is mandatory as part of the National Curriculum. Therefore we aim to be back at school at the very latest at 3.40pm. For those children that attend Chelsea Football Club, afterschool children are encouraged to bring their football kit to change into after swimming.
Another super but busy week in year 3!
Welcome Back and Happy New Year! It is so lovely to see all the children back and hear all their wonderful Christmas stories.
Wow, we made it! What a great first term we have had in year 3. We have had a great week with lots of festive fun, from creating our own decorations, to Christmas pictures and making gingerbread
Nearly there!
As previously mentioned in our earlier blog, we have planned a Christmas surprise treat for the children next Friday (Hot chocolate, a sweet treat around the campfire next Friday.) If you have any questions or concerns regarding this please email us.
The children have worked extremely hard this year, therefore we are planning to have a small but yummy treat (please keep it a surprise!).
We will be treating the children to a hot chocolate, sweet treat and Christmas story around the camp fire, next Friday (16th December).
Our aim is for the children to embrace the outdoors and have an enjoyable experience, however if you object and do not wish for your child to take part in this experience please let us know via email. Also, please if your child has any allergies we are not already aware of, let us know.
Our emails are; e.townsend@brockenhurst-primary.hants.sch.uk and r.platt@brockenhurst-primary.hants.sch.uk
Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately particularly if it is cold including; hats, scarf and gloves. If your child has shoulder-length hair ensure this is tied up inconsonance with our school policy and for health and safety reasons.
Year 3 continue to work hard and try their best, we are so proud of all of them and all they have achieved this term.
How are we already over halfway through the term!
The festivities are in full swing, this week we have been creating art work for our Christmas door in readiness for next week. We cannot wait to see the Christmas doors around school.
A super week in year 3, the children continue to amaze me.
This week we have been discussing different themes in our focus book in Guided Reading ‘The Barnabus Project’, we discussed how fiction books had different genres and themes. The themes might be hidden throughout the story. We have also been learning what and how to write in paragraphs when writing a persuasive letter from Duncan to the crayons. Persuading them to work for Duncan again.
Another super week year 3! Well done :)
Welcome back! It is wonderful seeing all the children again and finding out all about their half-term adventures!
