Thank you for all your hard work at home in the children learning the words to the songs. They are bellowing out the music. The school production will be on the 11th and 13th July in the evenings. We will have a dress rehearsal on the 8th of July.
Sports Day
Sports day is getting nearer, we have been practising the events. Parents are welcome to join for a picnic at 12:00 on the school field.

In Maths, we have been comparing fractions using the symbols greater than and less than.
In English, we have been looking at the layout of a report in preparation to write our bee reports.
School Production
On the 11th and 13th July, we will be performing our school production in the evenings. Timings will be confirmed later. Your child needs to bring £2, which is for a white t-shirt that we will be using as costumes and black trousers/leggings from home.

School Sports Day
The date has been changed for School Sports Day to the 7th July. We are sorry for any disruptions this has caused.
English + Art
In English and art we have been looking at the artist and writer Piotra Socha. He has written the books 'Bees'. In Art, we have been trying to recreate his pictures, by changing the proportions of body and limb shapes and adding in oval eyes. We have also written posters about dangers to bees.
In Maths, we have been learning about equivalent fractions.
Key Stage 2 will be performing the school play 'Let the Games Begin'.
Year 3 will be learning the song Monopoly. The lyrics are in the link below and there is a link to the musical soundtrack. We will need to dress in white t-shirts and black trousers. We would like to ask that all children bring in £2 so that we can buy matching t-shirts.

This wrekin Maths we have been learning how to interpret information from a bar chart and a table. We even completed one of the biggest addition sums this year.
In English, we have continued our work with speech, possessive apostrophes and similes, but we moved onto the animation short film, Planets. It is a very entertaining video, and we even designed our own planet with accompanying aliens.
Art: this term we have been focusing on the artist Henri Matisse. There are some examples in the download box of Matisse style collages.
English: in English this week we are getting tehnical. The children have been learning about how to write speech correctly, and (take a breath) plural apostrophies. They have picked these skills up very quickly. We are still studying about our book The Iron Man.

Our Wolves' leaflets have finally finished! Some are pretty terrifying. The aim of the leaflet was to warn rabbits about the dangers that wolves pose. Our work was inspired by the wonderful book by Emily Gravett, 'Wolves'.
We have also started our new book, The Promise. Which is a beautifully written and illustrated story about a girls journey from being mean and hard, to being kind and considerate.
In Maths, we have been adding and subtracting 3 digits.
