Friday Blog - Friday 24th October
Good afternoon everyone,
We’ve had an excellent day, all dressed in green for Oakhaven. Who knew the children of Brockenhurst had so many green clothes! Many thanks for all your donations for what is such a worthy cause.
The children have worked so hard for me in Maths this week. We have started to learn how to tackle column addition and subtraction, particularly how to set the calculations out neatly to ensure the answer doesn’t become muddled. The children were all feeling confident at this by the end of the week.
We’ve been reading an old poem called The Hippocrump, about an imaginary animile. The children have written descriptions of the creature and then used these to write their own group poems, which they then performed to the rest of the class.
I will only set maths homework this week as we won’t have a new set of spelling words until after half term.
Whatever you are doing I wish you all an enjoyable and restful half term,
Clare
