We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 3

Friday Blog - Friday 21st November

Good afternoon everyone,

We’ve started a new book in our English lessons called The Search for the Giant Arctic Jellyfish by Chloe Savage. It is a lovely book with very detailed illustrations. We have imagined ourselves to be Dr Morley, arranging an expedition to the Arctic. We’ve written letters persuading people to come with us and then considered what replies she might receive. We haven’t finished the story yet so are desperate to find out if her search is successful!

In maths we have been subtracting with exchanges. We have all found this a tricky concept to master, but with lots of practise we were feeling more confident by the end of the week. As always, the maths homework set on Edshed gives the children the opportunity to consolidate what has been taught in class each week.

It was as if I was back in Wimbledon this afternoon. The children enjoyed an exciting tennis coaching session with Coach Andy from Sway tennis club. They practised lots of different tennis skills to develop their rallies and soon warmed up, despite the cold. I just needed a glass of Pimms and some strawberries!

Please can you check that your child has a FULL PE kit in school every day. It can be very frustrating when children are repeatedly missing items. Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend,

Clare
