We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 3

Friday Blog - Friday 6th March

Good afternoon everybody,

We’ve had a week full of sunshine and excitement.

In Science, we are looking at the topic of Light. On Wednesday afternoon the weather was perfect for us to be investigating how shadows are made. We had great fun outside making shadow puppets with our hands and even a whole class Mexican wave shadow! We followed that up in class today by making our own shadow puppets and using torches to illuminate them.

Also, today we had a fun session with Coach Jack and Coach Georgia from Rippa Rugby. The children loved it and got delightfully muddy practising some rugby skills in some fun tag rugby games. Some of the children have brought home a leaflet, if they are interested in joining the club which runs on Mondays, after school.

We had great fun on World Book Day – I’m thinking of teaching in slippers every day now! We all had a chance to read for pleasure in the morning and drew story maps for the book we have been reading in English. Then, in the afternoon, we split into groups and the children enjoyed a whole variety of book related activities. The children have their book token with them today.

I’m sorry that our final Forest School had to be postponed last week. We will try to reschedule it for later in the year. The children should, hopefully, have brought their forest school things home again.

Have a lovely weekend,

Clare
