Year 3

Friday Blog - Friday 15th May
Good afternoon everyone,
In English, we have been writing stories inspired by The Iron Man. The children thought about how to build suspense and made careful vocabulary choices too. The finished stories are well worth reading.
In Maths, we have been working with money this week. The children have done well, although finding change was tricky today. We’ll have a go at it again on Monday. We are rapidly turning into a cashless society, which makes money a difficult topic for children. I f you do have the opportunity to go to the shops with cash, it is a great learning experience for the children.
We’ve been reading The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde in Guided Reading, a book that was written in Victorian times, yet the children are loving it.
It’s Sports Day next week. I hop you have seen the information that has come to you about this and I look forward to seeing you there, if you can make it.
Best wishes for the weekend,
Clare
