Good afternoon everyone,

We’ve had lots of fun this week in Roe Deer Class, particularly listening to our class read – Grimwood by Nadia Shireen. It’s lovely to hear them laughing as I read and they are always desperate to hear the next chapter. In English we have been writing our own interviews of Stone Age Beasts. We are hoping to make them into a class book, which is very exciting. Hopefully we’ll manage to finish it early next week.

Another highlight was our science investigation this week, where we imagined that a chocolate tea cake was a brain. The children were challenged to use some card, paper, sellotape and lolly sticks to make a structure to protect their ‘brains’ when we dropped them from a height! There were some great ideas and only one group ended up with a smashed brain. Luckily there were enough at the end for us all to have a treat!

We have already started our collection for Harvest in our classroom, in readiness for our Harvest Service at the church on Wednesday next week. Many thanks to those who have already sent in donations.

Just a reminder that our library day is Tuesday. Book change is on Thursdays; however, I tend to only change their books if they have finished them. If your child has finished on a different day, I will always try to change it, if they come and ask me to. I have set homework for this week and the children have until next Friday to complete it.
