Good afternoon everyone.

What a bright and sunny end to the week! It was lovely to see so many of you on Wednesday in church for our Harvest Festival. Thank you again for all the donations or The Basics Food Bank. The children did a great job at carrying it all down to the church as well.

In English this week we have started two new books, which the children are really enjoying – After the Fall by Dan Santat and The Barnabus Project by The Fan Brothers. We have been making lots of predictions about what might happen and using the clues in the texts to infer the characters’ feelings.

In maths we have moved on from place value and have started a unit on addition and subtraction. The maths tasks set for homework always reflect what we have done in class each week. I try to set the homework every Friday and the children have all week to complete it. I apologise in advance for the times when I forget – it does happen sometimes!

Just a quick reminder that the children should only have water in their water bottles, which should be brought into school every day.

Enjoy the weekend,

Clare
