We have had a great week – a four day week really does fly by! We have packed a lot in. Thankfully, the weather has remained dry and we were able to on their field today to do some Sports Day preparation. The class worked in their houses and had a go at 8 of the activities that they will be taking part in on the day. The class really enjoyed the varied selection of activities and having a go at some new games. They were quite hot and tired by the end!

In other news this week, we have started a new text in English. We are exploring a book called, ‘The Lost Words’ which is a collection of wonderful poems all linked to nature. We looked at one called 'Bluebells' in depth as a class. We discussed the purpose of the text and how it is bringing the words of nature back into people’s minds and mouths. The class were then inspired by a senses walk around the school grounds and used this to write a description.

Our fraction journey has continued this week in maths. We have looked at equivalent fractions using fraction walls and number lines. Having the visual representative really helped the class to see which fractions were the same and which were not. We have then moved onto adding two or more fractions using both improper fractions and mixed numbers.
