It has been another great week in Year 4. A highlight has definitely been our science lesson. The class have been looking at electricity and complete circuits. This week they explored making a range of circuits and recording those using scientific symbols. The class has working circuits with bulbs, motors and switches. They did a fantastic job and were really resilient when they had a circuits that would not work!

In English this week, we have continued on our journey into ‘The Lost Words’. We are working towards producing our own nature themed leaflets and this week explored a variety of different leaflets about nature and the New Forest. As a class, we compiled a list of elements within the leaflets that made them successful and looked at how the information had been presented. We have ended the week by recapping paragraphs and using a list of facts to write our own cohesive paragraphs.

In maths, we finished our fractions unit by subtracting fractions from an improper fraction and a mixed number fraction. The class were great at drawing pictorial representations to help them work out the answers where needed. We have now moved onto decimals. We are started our journey by recapping tenths represented as decimals and fractions.
