We have had a slightly different end to our week here – with a day rehearsing at the village hall. The production is looking brilliant and Year 4 have been fantastic at learning their dance and singing all the songs. We are looking forward to showing you next week. If your child cannot make one or both of the performances, please do let me know so I can tweak dance partners.

In other news, we have been exploring time and shape in maths. We are looking at recognising digital 12 hour and 24 hour time. Regular focus on this at home will really support fluency and confidence in this life skill. We have also recapped right angles, obtuse angles and acute angles and used our knowledge of them to order and compare. The class were fantastic at this, despite there being some complicated language.

In English, we have written descriptions of the main character, Hiccup. We have used an extract from the text and continued the writing in the same style as the author. The class produced some excellent descriptions with some well-considered, high level vocabulary.  

We have come to the end of our history unit this week where we looked at Vikings and whether they were more like traders or raiders. The class have used a range of sources of evidence to create their own book about Vikings.
