We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 4

Year 4  -11.07.2025

We have had a lovely week in Year 4. A highlight most definitely has to be the production – wow! Our performance started with our dress rehearsal to Year R and KS1. Thank you for all of the fantastic costumes you provided, the children looked great! Our two evening performances were also brilliant and Year 4 did a wonderful job of signing all of the songs and performing their dance. Well done Year 4! Another huge well done for the ukulele performance on Tuesday. I was blown away by their enthusiasm and skill!

Another highlight this week has been making our lights in D&T. The class have produced some wonderful torches and lights, applying their scientific knowledge of circuits. The children had some beautiful designs and showed great resilience when putting the light casing and the electrical circuit together.

In maths this week, we have been looking at statistics. We have been exploring how data is collected and then presented using bar charts, pictograms and line graphs. The class did a great job of interpreting and comparing the data they had, as well as calculating data. Next week, we will be using this knowledge for coordinates.

In English, the class have been recapping speech punctuation and use of pronouns. We have used our text, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ to look at the use of direct speech to move the story forwards and pronouns to avoid repetition. The class then applied this into their own writing about Hiccup in the cave.

Next week, we will be beginning to send home the children’s completed books from this year. Please could you bring in a strong carrier bag to carry books home in.

Thank you

We hope you all enjoy the weekend.
