Year 4 Weekly Blog

5.9.25
Good afternoon,
We hope you all had a lovely summer.
The children have settled into Year 4 brilliantly. We have had a lovely couple of days, starting some of our topics and establishing our routines ready for the year.
In maths, we have started our Place Value topic, recognising numbers up to 1000. We will continue with this topic next week. In PE, we have started our unit on golf and in art, we have started our unit where we will be studying an artist called Andy Goldsworthy. So far, the children have been really engaged in their learning and are excited to find out more of our topics next week.
We can confirm that our PE days are on a Tuesday and Friday, so please make sure the children have their PE kits in school on those days.
Our library slot is on a Tuesday, and this is an opportunity for the children to spend some time in our lovely library as well as change their books if they need to. We will also change reading scheme books on this day. The children should bring their reading scheme books into school every day as we regularly listen to them read or give them opportunities to read independently. The children have all been read with this week and have brought home new reading scheme books and reading records to get them started.
Have a lovely weekend.
