Hi all,

We have had a great week in Year 4 and have been busy practising our harvest songs for Wednesday.

In Maths, we have started our addition and subtraction unit. This week, we have been focusing on addition, specifically using the column method to add two 4-digit numbers with more than one exchange. I have been impressed with the children’s understanding of exchanging.

In English, we have read a new book called ‘Greenling’ by Levi Pinfold. This week, the children got into character as one of the people in the crowd and shared their viewpoint about whether the Greenling should be allowed to stay or not!

We have continued our Geography learning about Florida. This week we looked at Florida’s climate and when in the year, people would want to visit The Magic Kingdom. In Art, the children enjoyed getting the paint out and experimenting with different brush techniques. There were some lovely pages created, where a lot of care was taken.  

Due to staffing changes, the expected sessions of Forest School for Group B will be spread out across a longer period of time. All children will still receive an equal number of sessions and I will confirm dates in due course.
