Hi all,

We have had yet another busy week in Year 4.

In Maths, we continued to practise subtraction with more than one exchange. The children are now feeling more confident on this. We also have been using our knowledge of rounding and adding/subtracting to estimate answers and using checking strategies.

In English, we have been learning about paragraphs and grouping paragraphs around one topic. The children wrote their speeches today, persuading the crowd either to keep the Greenling or get rid of it. They are looking forward to sharing these with the rest of the class on Monday.

In Geography, the children have learnt about sea turtles and how we can protect them from becoming extinct. We also learnt about peninsulas and identified several peninsulas around the world. Everyone again enjoyed art this week. We had the paints out and painted an Andy’s Goldsworthy sculpture.
