We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 4

Year 4 - 6.2.26

Hi all,

This week, we have looked at a new book. It is called ‘Flood’ by Alvaro Villa and is a wordless picture book. The children have enjoyed looking at the pictures and inferring what is going on and how the characters are feeling. They acted out part of the story to help them understand how the characters would feel. We have also been learning about expanded noun phrases.

In Maths, we have been learning to calculate the perimeter of rectangles and rectilinear shapes. The children have also learnt how to calculate the missing sides of rectilinear shapes.

In Geography, we looked at a city called Arica in Chile and the reasons why it is so dry. The children have been working hard in PE, practising for the annual Brockenhurst Dance Off next week and we finished the week with the children working in teams to design and make a potato person as part of their learning in PSHE!

I look forward to seeing many of you at Parents’ evening next week.

Have a lovely weekend

Miss Bates
