Hi all,

In Maths, we’ve been continuing with our learning on decimals. We started the week, dividing 1- and 2-digit numbers by 100 and have now moved on to partitioning decimals. The children are beginning to grasp the idea of tenths and hundredths as decimals.

In English, the children have started an exciting new writing unit, inspired by the beautifully illustrated poetry collection ‘The Lost Words’. The children have been exploring the rich language and imagery within the book.  

In RE, we have been learning about the Jewish Torah. The children have been learning about its significance within Judaism. In Science, we compared the data we have collected on the plants and animals seen around the school grounds. We discussed how our findings vary across the different seasons and considered possible reasons for these changes.

Finally, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the thoughtful cards and gifts I have received. I have enjoyed my time at Brockenhurst and will miss seeing the children each day. I know that the children are looking forward to having Mr Wilcox and welcoming Miss Westerman back.
