Year 4 Blog 26/6/26

This week certainly brought something a little different! The extreme heat meant that the school had to partially close to keep everyone safe. Although it wasn't the week we had planned, it gave us a wonderful opportunity to spend some time together playing games in the classroom and simply having fun. It was lovely to share these moments with the children, and their smiles and laughter made the best of an unusual situation.
In English, we have begun our new class text, Fantastic Mr Fox. It is a brilliant story to finish the year with, and the children are already hooked. We have been stepping into the shoes of the different characters through role-play and interviewing them to explore their personalities, thoughts and motivations. We are looking forward to seeing where the story takes us!
In Maths, we have been learning how to interpret data. The children have been developing their skills in reading and understanding a range of graphs, using the information to answer questions and draw conclusions. It has been great to see their confidence grow as they tackle increasingly challenging data problems.
As we approach the end of the school year, it has been wonderful to reflect on how much the children have grown in confidence, resilience and enthusiasm for learning. We are looking forward to making the most of our final weeks together.
