Dear parents and carers,

This week we continued our work on fractions. The children were adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators - quite a challenge as the fractions needed to be converted first into fractions with the same denominators before adding - we will continue with this next week. 

In English we finished reading Shackleton's Journey and the children worked on turning similes into metaphors to use in their final endurance narratives.

We had another discovery lesson in science where the children predicted and then found out how many days there are on each of the planets in our solar system. The results were surprising, but confirmed that the further away a planet is from the sun, the longer the planet takes to orbit it. 

In computing,  the children were experimenting with using different frames to use for making their own video.
