Dear parents and carers,

Thank you to all those who have signed and returned the permission slip for our upcoming trip.

This week we have completed our area and perimeter unit in maths and will proceed to 'Statistics' and interpreting graphical representations.

We have started 3 new units:

 Our writing unit links to the fabulous book 'Dreams of Freedom', produced by Amnesty International.

Our reading unit focuses on 'My Side of the Mountain', where we follow Sam on his journey out of New York city to the Catskill Mountains.

In RE we are studying our second unit on ISLAM, focussing on the concept of 'Ritual'.

On Friday, the children all managed to make a Quiz in Scratch! This seemed like a daunting task at first, but it did not take long before everyone created a sprite and various questions and answers using some incredible programming skills. We were really proud of them all and their perseverance.
