Dear parents and carers,

This week in Year 5 has been full of exciting learning across the curriculum!

In Maths, the children have been developing their problem-solving skills by working with multiplication. They have also been learning how to use short division, showing great perseverance as they tackled new challenges.

In English, the class has been planning their diary entries based on the life of Henry Brown. The children have worked hard to understand his experiences and have begun to think carefully about how to write from his perspective.

During Guided Reading, we started a new book called Kick. The children have been comparing different parts of the story, sharing thoughtful ideas and making connections as they read.

In Design and Technology, the children had a fantastic time making their own bread rolls. They showed great creativity and teamwork throughout the process. We are incredibly grateful to the Pig Hotel and Restaurant for giving their time to teach the children so much about healthy eating and bread baking – it was a truly memorable experience for everyone involved!

Well done, Year 5, for another brilliant week of learning!
