Dear parents and carers,

What a hot week it has been! Despite the extremely warm weather, the children coped brilliantly and continued to work hard. We made sure everyone stayed hydrated and took regular opportunities to cool down. Thankfully, temperatures are expected to return to normal next week.

In Maths, we have been developing our confidence when adding and subtracting decimal numbers. The children have been using place value knowledge to solve a range of calculations and explain their methods.

In English, we began planning a balanced argument. We explored how to present both sides of an issue fairly before reaching a clear conclusion, and the children generated some thoughtful ideas ready for their writing.

In Science, we investigated solutions and evaporation. We explored how some substances dissolve in water to form solutions and discussed how evaporation can be used to separate a dissolved solid from a liquid.

Well done to everyone for their resilience and positive attitude during such a hot week. We look forward to cooler weather and another fantastic week of learning.
