Another busy week in Year 6 has seen the children completing DT projects, writing time slip narratives, rehearsing songs and producing some thoughtful prayers for our annual 'Carols around the Tree'.
Despite the ever-growing excitement and change to normal routine, Y6 have remained calm and happy, enjoying visits to the PTA Christmas shop and a visit from Father Christmas himself this morning! An early trip to drop off some class presents - Year 6 were delighted with their giant Connect 4 game - thank you Santa!
Wishing you all and your families a happy and restful Christmas holiday.
A big thank you from all of the Year 6 team for your generous gifts and thoughtful cards - they are as ever, much appreciated by us all.
Merry Christmas!
Year 6 team.
What a great end to the week! Thank you to the Brockenhurst fire-fighting team for coming in and organising activities for the children as part of their career sessions: crushing, aiming the hose and wind-fans were all a tremendous hit!
In maths we have moved on from fractions to learn more about metric measurements and have been converting length, capacity and mass.
In English we have been continuing our Frost Fair story, looking at the conventions of dialogue and descriptive narrative style. Some great written work produced - well done all.
The last week is soon upon us and there is definitely an air excitement in the room! Next week we have many things going on: Christmas jumper day and lunch on Wednesday, craft morning and carols around the tree on Thursday, followed by a visit from Santa on Friday morning. PTA Christmas shop is on Tuesday...
Forest school as usual Wednesday pm for current group.
Have a great weekend,
Year 6 team
